Contributing Writer

I've been a technical writer for more than 20 years. Yes, technical writing is writing. No, my writing is not boring, especially when I write about boring stuff. Yes, I have lots of interesting stuff to write about. No, 'stuff' is not a technical word I use a lot. Gee, I'm glad you're asking questions I can answer.

As a technical writer, my mantra is "clear, concise, correct". Writing that is not concise cannot be clear. Writing that is not clear cannot be understood as correct. Writing that is not correct is worthless.

I have a programming background. I was your classic COBOL mainframe maintenance programmer in the 1970's. I learned Fortran at University. I learned Basic, Rexx, APL, Java, and XSLT on my own and enjoyed every one.

I have a degree in Mathematics. I wish I had had the confidence to persue a career in Math. If you ever see me with my right arm missing, you will know my wish has come true.
